Cultural boxes · Country No 01 · Pakistan

A small box that carries a country home.

Root Crate is a curated box of flavors, objects, and stories from one country at a time. We start with Pakistan, and we have many more to come.

The closed Root Crate box: green and cream, featuring a willow tree and the Root Crate wordmark.
Our idea

Heritage, hand-picked.

Every Root Crate is built around a single country. Inside, you'll find the snacks people grew up on, the drinks shared at family tables, and a few quiet, surprising objects that tell you something about the place.

We're not trying to summarize a culture. We're trying to send you a thoughtful slice of one: to remind you of home, to introduce you to somewhere new, or just to give you something delightful to open.

Our first crate celebrates Pakistan. The next ones will travel elsewhere.

Inside Crate No 01

The Pakistan Crate.

Five staples chosen for nostalgia, plus three quiet surprises that speak to Pakistan in their own way. Each crate is small, deliberate, and built to be opened slowly.

A bottle of Hamdard Rooh Afza, a crimson rose-and-herb syrup, against a warm cream background.
The crimson syrup

Rooh Afza

A century-old rose-and-herb cordial poured over ice on summer afternoons. Pour, stir, remember.

A packet of Nimco Spicy Potato Sticks against a warm cream background.
Crunchy & fiery

Nimco Spicy Sticks

Crisp, fiery potato sticks dusted with chili and salt. The packet that disappears at every gathering.

A bag of Chili Mili fruity jelly candies against a warm cream background.
Fruity jellies

Chili Mili

The rainbow-bright fruity chews of every Pakistani childhood. Tangy, sweet, and impossible to eat just one of.

A red box of Sooper cookies against a warm cream background.
Tea-time classic

Sooper

The original Pakistani biscuit. Crisp, faintly sweet, and best dipped twice into a steaming cup of milky chai.

A green can of Pakola ice-cream soda, beaded with condensation, against a warm cream background.
The green soda

Pakola

The cult-classic ice-cream soda in electric green. A taste of every Karachi summer, in a single can.

Mystery item #1

A small object you'll meet when you lift the lid.

Mystery item #2

Not a snack. Quietly, surely Pakistan.

Mystery item #3

Something to keep, long after the crate is empty.

Three of the eight aren't snacks. They're small keepsakes, chosen to speak of Pakistan in their own quiet way.

The Root Crate Pakistan crate, opened and styled with its contents (Rooh Afza, Sooper biscuits, Pakola, Chili Mili, and Nimco) scattered around it on a soft blue backdrop.
When you open it

A small welcome, tucked inside.

Every Root Crate opens with a moment of place. The Pakistan crate greets you in green and cream, with a star and crescent, and three words: Welcome to Pakistan.

Inside, the staples we grew up on, the surprises that whisper a country, and a small story for each.
